Fitness..Oh Yeah we did!!!

Fitness Happened.... Yesterday and Today!

Remember yesterday I told you exercise was a no go, well it HAPPENED!  We ended up at the local soccer park and did an awesome work out.  I submit proof:

Fitness:  We also worked out today.  It was a little less exciting for the kids and there was more moaning going on but pretty decent attitudes for getting their butts kicked by good ol' mama.  One purchase I did make was a Bluetooth wireless speaker.  Knowing my children I thought this techie gadget would add to the cool factor of working out.  I made a playlist with a mixture of ALL their favorite songs on my IPhone and hit play.  They were like whooooooooa...I am pretty proud of that.  The only rule is NO ONE touches the IPOD 'cept mama!

What do we do on our outdoor exercise jaunts?  Well that is a work in progress, so far I use my experience with the Insanity program, High Intensity Interval Training and Yoga for my exercise routine.  We do about fifteen minutes of exercises and then repeat.  When this is over we do cardio.  Yesterday we ran, today we played soccer, bikes, hiking, football, games...I imagine these will all be in the mix.

Here is a list of what we did:

Stretches
Warm-up lap
Squat Jumps
Spiderman planks
Lunge Jumps
Pulse Crunches
High Knees
Superman
Ski Jumps
Get ups
Truck Lifts

Repeat

25-30 minutes  of cardio in various forms

The cool thing is the kids have exercises they want to add to the routine so I am taking suggestions and mixing them into the routines.  I that was really cool.  My daughter had an egg roll around thing that I had a hard time getting onboard with though.

At the end of our second day I said, "well end of day 2, won' it be amazing when we can say end of week 2, month 2, year 2, etc." met with eye roll, uh-huh, and yes mommy from my little peacemaker.

This Girl
have in common?  They are super awesome.  Well they are, but the girl is my beautiful sister (She knows what she's doing, I mean check out those arms)  and she made these protein balls on the ski trip we were on and they were a little too yummy if you know what I mean, but really it goes a little like this:

The base is rolled oats
mix in some peanut butter for bonding
a little honey for sweetness to your liking
protein powder for extra power (chocolate, vanilla)
flax seed for healthy goodness

you could throw other yummy options like:
Chocolate chips
coconut
cranberries
chia seeds
let your imagination run wild.

Family:
Got tons of family support, folks checking out our fit 'n fun blog.  I hope you guys like it.  I love my family, believe in God, and want to keep us super healthy, what's not to love about that.
